Francis “Frank” Maynard Kielty

Francis “Frank” Maynard Kielty (“Toodles”), 82, passed on Feb. 2 in Riverside, CA, after a long fight with cancer. He was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Olympia, WA, to Maynard and Olive Kielty.

Frank moved from Medford, OR, to St. Regis, MT, in 1932 and attended St. Regis High School; he was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. He married Shirley McCallum on May 24, 1951. Returning to St. Regis, he worked for C.G. Bennett Lumber as a choker setter and log loader.

In 1958 Frank moved his family -- including daughters Wendy and Pam – to Anaheim and became superintendent at Ward & Harrington Lumber in Santa Ana and retired as a salesman with Universal Forest Products in 1992.  He then launched Frank & Shirley Kielty Box & Wood Products in Moreno Valley. 

Frank was a member of Riverside Baptist Temple; Masonic Lodge 828; El Bekal Temple, Long Beach; and the American Legion. 

Frank’s first priority was always his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Shirley; brother Bill Kielty (Leola) of Arlington, WA; sister Nadine Worley of St. Regis, MT; children Wendy (Konrad) Schroeder of Riverside; Pamela (Larry) Stroud of Hemet, CA; grandchildren Shawnda (Greg) Leone of Riverside; Jay (Matt) Guptill of Houston, TX; Josh (Kim) Stroud of Temecula, CA; Katie Stroud of Riverside; Lacy Guptill of Riverside and nine great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Viewing is 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20; services are 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21

Burial is 11:15 a.m. Feb. 21 at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #2.
