Bluehawks place second

Thompson Falls made good on its second place seed in districts, advancing to divisionals as the second seed.

The Bluehawks opened the District 7-B Tournament with a win over Plains, 54-24 in the semifinal before dropping the championship game to Troy 46-59.

Versus Troy, Thompson Falls seemed to have things under control after a 17-7 third quarter advantage gave them a 36-28 lead heading into the fourth.

The Trojans battle back, outscoring the Bluehawks 21-10 in the final stanza to earn their first district title since 2003.

Challis Wilson scored 13 points to lead Thompson Falls. Jaron Laws contributed nine points, Josh Hojem seven, Garrett Reinschmidtt six, Sky Hall six and Cody Phillips five in the win.

On Friday, Thompson Falls erupted to a 16-6 advantage in the second and a 20-2 advantage in the third quarter to blow past Plains on their way to the final matchup against Troy.

Reinschmidt scored a game-high 17 to lead Thompson Falls. Hojem added nine points, Phillips seven, Wilson six, Jaron Laws five, Kevin Hagedorn four, Ross Dalby three, A.J. Pavlik two and Dalton Groshong one.

The Bluehawks will face Deer Lodge on Thursday at 5:45 in their first Western B Divisional Tournament game in Pablo.
