Triumphs and tribulations for the Plains Precent Committee People

How fortunate we are in Sanders County to have 2 stalwart defenders of liberty like our Plains Precinct Committee people, Judy Woolley and Pat Legard.  Over the last 10 days, these 2 have travelled twice to Helena, on their own dime, to testify before Legislators on some very key bills.

This spring when Pat and Judy campaigned for this 2 year unpaid position, they went to nearly every door in the town of Plains and a good many out of town.  Again, spending their own money and a lot of time, they were encouraged by the many folks they met who expressed the same concerns regarding the direction of our country and state, which they too felt.  Since being elected, they continue to be available for calls, emails, even the odd conversation at the grocery store from all of us who are glad to have their robust representation.

Judy and Pat have never once shrugged their responsibilities for these positions; they have gone above and beyond to inform us of their progress and roadblocks in their attempts to achieve what we have all told them we so desperately desire. It has been disappointing that many roadblocks exist within the very framework of the Republican leadership, which should welcome and be grateful for their hard work. In this day and age, tyrannical behavior should never be tolerated.  When encountered, it should be immediately addressed and steps should be taken by those who have the responsibility, to remember their obligation to the public and stop the behavior before it becomes a black mark upon them all.

Fortunately, there exists some up and coming Republican leadership which gives us all hope that a bridge can be built upon common good for the people and not misguided, self directed agendas.

To learn more about the challenges and successes that Pat and Judy have, please plan to attend the Sanders County Central Republican meeting this Thursday, Jan. 27th at the Fairgrounds Pavilion in Plains at 7 pm. These meetings occasionally change venue at the last moment, so if you do plan on attending and want to make sure the meeting is still happening, please feel free to call me at my office at 826-3909 this Thursday.  Thank you.
