Jason Reimer

What was your favorite moment from this year’s basketball season?

Watching the girls show up each week ready to learn and get better regardless of the circumstances they faced.

What was your team’s biggest challenge? How did they respond?

When Makayla Becker, our senior captain and leader tore her ACL, it presented a big challenge for our young team.  Girls had to take on new responsibilities and a new mindset.  By tournament time they had responded very well.  Despite a disappointing finish at the district tournament, the girls played some of their best basketball of the season at the tournament.

In what areas did you see the most improvement?

In our ability to play as a team, move the ball, and handle pressure as the year went on.

When and how did you see the greatest character exhibited by your team?

In a home game against Plains, missing a player [Becker], the team rallied together and played one of our best games of the season.  In that game they showed a lot of character, unselfishness, and grit.  It was a great win for our team, but even a better display of true team play.

What are you looking forward to the most about next season?

We have a lot of young players returning next year.  Also, next year we will have a lot more depth and therefore a lot more competition for varsity playing time.  I am looking forward to watching these players get better and grow as a team..
