Blue Hawks beat Horsemen for spot in divisonals

Last Tuesday both Plains and Thompson Falls played each other for the third time this season. After splitting the first two meetings, this matchup would decide which team would move on to the divisonals tournament.

Plains got off to a slow start and trailed by 11 against Thompson Falls after the first quarter. Despite the slow start, the Horsemen quickly caught up to the Blue Hawks and kept the score close throughout the remainder of the game. In the end both teams played tough but it was the Blue Hawks who emerged victorious with a 52-46 win.

Win the win Thompson Falls moved on to the district tournament while Plains season came to an end. The Horsemen conclude the season at 2-16.

In their final games of the season, Jeremiah Crawford and Tanner Ostrom had a big night on the court with ten points each. Brandyn Smith and Abram French also played well against the opposition as they combined for 18 points on the night.

In the match to decide who would play in the District Championship game, Thompson Falls faced Bigfork on their home court. The Blue Hawks got off to a slow start and were forced to play catch up for most of the contest. Even though the Blue Hawks played well, they were unable to even the score. Bigfork won by a final of 49-33.

Garrett Rheinschmidt was the leading scorer for Thompson Falls with 12 points while teammate Ross Dalby as has a good night as he posted ten points.

The final game for Thompson Falls at divisionals was the Consolation game against Eureka. In this game, Thompson Falls got off to a great start by taking the lead early in the game. By the third quarter, both teams were tied at 45. Unfortunately for the Blue Hawks, Eureka caught fire in the final quarter and scored 30 points. Thompson Falls also shot well in the fourth quarter both were unable to match the accurate shooting of the opposition. Eureka won by a score of 75-61.

AJ Pavlik had a great night shooting and posted 15 points on the night.

The Blue Hawks will move on to the divisional round next week at Hamilton.
