Noxon was in Ronan over the weekend at disticts for a chance to earn a spot in the divisional round. In order to do so, they bested six other teams who were competing for the same opportunity. Although the Red Devils weren’t perfect, they made it to the consolation championship and got revenge against a Superior squad who had beaten then by a single point just last week.

In the first game of districts, Noxon advanced with a big win over St. Regis. The Red Devils jumped out to a 27-6 lead over the Tigers in the first quarter and never looked back. They won by a final of 71-33.

Neal Jopling led the attack with 19 points while teammate Travis Tammaro added 10 to the scoreboard.

In the semifinals of the championship bracket, Noxon suffered their only defeat of the tournament against Charlo. Both teams played even in the first half but the Red Devils were outscored by the Bobcats in the second half by a score of 32-24. Charlo won by a final of 61-52.

Banks Stocking was a huge reason Noxon kept pace as he scored ten points on the night.

With the threat of elimination looming over the squad, Noxon answered the challenge on Saturday with another win over Arlee. The Red Devils got off to a great start and built a 13-point lead after the first quarter. The team maintained control through the remainder of the contest for a 58-48 win.

Banks Stocking and Travis Tammaro combined for 34 points to keep the season alive.

Noxon ended the tournament in the consolation championship game against Superior. Like their previous matchup, both squads played close throughout the majority of the contest. With the game tied after the third quarter, the Red Devils outplayed the Bobcats in the final quarter for a 47-37 win.

Noxon went on to beat Victor on Monday and will play in the divisional tournament this weekend.
