The Thompson Falls Community Farmers Market held their Show Your Patriotism day on Saturday in celebration of the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.

The market was full of the usual baked goods and fresh produce, but this week, Freerksens’s Bread made their first visit of 2012, selling their always-popular sourdough bread and fresh baked cinnamon rolls.

Nat Burgess was kind enough to donate his time again, and provide live music for the market goers. Lisa Beachy is using the market to help the community eat healthier by providing them with bread made from natural-sprouted flour.

“I want to help provide a healthy alternative to bleached flour for the people of the community, and I really enjoy coming here and being able to interact and shop with other members of the community.” said Beachy.

Carmel Babich and Jackie Burgess are neighbors and use the market as a place to catch up on what’s been going on.

“We live in the same neighborhood but in Montana sometimes you live four miles away from your closest neighbor, so I love coming to the market to see my neighbors and to visit with the rest of the community.” said Burgess.

The market provides plenty of other ways to get to know your community.

“I love everything, the arts and crafts, the baked goods, the fresh jelly and of course the people,” said Babich.

The Thompson Falls Market will be highlighting the youth of Sanders County by featuring kids activities this  upcoming weekend.

“When we refer to the market as being a community thing, we really mean the community from the kids to the seniors and all age groups in between,” explained Katrina Campbell, the market manager.

The market will have a coloring area where kids will be able to color vegetables and fruits. At 10:30 there will be a water balloon toss where the winner will get a Thompson Falls Market t-shirt. Other activities are planned through out the morning.
