The boys 2012 Class B and C State Track Meets have come to an end, with Thompson Falls placing fifth with 30 points, and Plains finishing tied for 15th with 11. Noxon finished tied for eighth with 18 points and Hot Springs didn’t place.

The big news is that for the second straight day, a member of a Sanders County boys track and field team is coming home with a state title. This time its Carter Montgomery of Plains, Montgomery won the 1600-meter race in a time of 4:38.07, his individual title coupled with Banks Stocking of Noxon title in the javelin give Sanders County two track and field titles in 2012.

Speaking of Stocking, the Red Devils star finished second in the high jump clearing 5-11.

The Bluehawks had a great day of their own picking up 23 team points on day two jumping them up 13 spots from day one. Preston Schubert had the best individual performance for Thompson Falls, finishing second in the high jump clearing 6-2, Dominique Holt also cleared 6-2 in the high jump but due to tie breakers finished fourth. Holt also finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.70. The 4x100-meter relay team of Gabe Flood, John Lloyd, Cody Phillips, and Hawk Fratzke finished third with a time of 44.62, which bests their time of last week, which was good enough for first place in divisional competition.
