MINERAL COUNTY - It’s time again to kick off the Christmas Holidays and there are several events in Mineral County that are crucial in reaching our goal of a happy holiday season for all.

As part of the Giving Trees program, six trees will be at locations around the county. We ask that you pull a tag from the tree and purchase a gift for the child of that gender and age. Please keep the cost of each present at around $10.00 and return the presents to any of the participating businesses listed below.

Tape the tag to the present and return it by 6:00 pm on December 13 so they can be wrapped and ready for Santa to deliver on the 14th and 15th.

The trees are located at the Mineral Pharmacy, Castles Market, Mullan Trail Bank, Jackie’s Home Cooking and the St. Regis Gift Shop.

To help gather items for Holiday Food Baskets, Women in Timber will be collecting non-perishable food items.

Bring them in on any Tuesday or Friday between November 13 and December 11. Women in Timber is open from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.

In exchange for your food items, you can select free clothing items.

On Saturday December 1, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, one of Santa’s helpers will be out accepting cash donations to help pay for food and presents to help fill Santa’s sleigh.

Also on December 1 and December 8, Women in Timber will be sponsoring the "Parent’s Table" at the Masonic Temple from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Children can come inside, no parents allowed, and select free presents for their parents or guardians.

Volunteers will be there to help the children wrap their selections so they too will be able to share in the excitement and joy of giving on Christmas morning.

We hope as many of you as possible will help us reach our goal and make certain all children have a special Christmas dinner and a present under the tree.
