The Alberton Panthers faced off against county rivals St. Regis at home on Friday in front of a packed house for their homecoming game.

As the game began, the undefeated Panthers came out filled with a monstrous crowd backing them and used the energy of the fans to dominate on both sides of the ball.

Not only did the first half see sophomore quarterback Jack Lehl connect with junior Keir Sanzano for a 19-yard touchdown and junior Andrew Lommen and senior Todd Mrystol find the end zone on the ground with 22 and 38 yard runs respectively, the Panthers defense forced two safety’s as well.

At the end of the first quarter Alberton had a commanding lead of 22-0 and never looked back.

In the second, Myrstol showed his talents from the back spot by catching a strike from Lehl and finishing on the ground for a 42-yard touchdown to put the Panthers up 28-0.

The Tigers responded to Myrstol’s touchdown pass with a 58-yard run from Dakota Wickham that resulted in a touchdown, but that was the only time St. Regis found points in the game.

Sophomore Alec Manahan tackled a St. Regis ball carrier in the end zone for a safety and the rout was on. Mrystol ran for 35-yards and a touchdown and also caught a 51-yard pass from Lehl for six. Sanzano also carried the ball 13-yards for a touchdown and at halftime the Panthers were up 47-6.

In the second, Alberton primarily played their under classmen and only found points in the fourth when freshman Dylan Johnson connected with Mrystol on a 26-yard pass. The Panthers won 55-6 .
