Alberton Panthers remain undefeated
A week off didn’t slow down the Alberton Panther football squad as they headed to Big Sky on Saturday to take on Lone Peak.
Led by senior running back Todd Mrystol, who had 203 yards and two touchdowns in 13 attempts, Alberton put on an offensive clinic.
Mrystol started things off for the Panthers with a huge 54-yard run for a touchdown in the first quarter and although Lone Peak kept the pace in the first, Alberton never looked back from the 28-16 lead.
The senior also hooked up with sophomore quarterback Jack Lehl nine times which resulted in 168-yards and four touchdowns.
Lehl found junior Keir Sanzano just twice during the game against Lone Pine, but both of them counted big. Sanzano’s two receptions netted 130-yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers, who won 70-32.
The victory puts Alberton at 3-0 on the season with two of the wins coming in conference play.
It’s Homecoming week for the Panthers, who will face off against cross county rivals St. Regis at 7 p.m. on Friday.
