Art on the Walls shares art and music at CFVH
PLAINS – Art filled the white walls while music softly drifted down the hallways of the Clark Fork Valley Hospital on Thursday, March 28.
The Sanders County Arts Council hosted their second quarter Art on the Walls show,featuring almost 70 pieces of art put out on display, decking the halls of the hospital with color and life.
Seventeen artists, with 10 returning, displayed pieces of work from oil paintings to photography and even stained glass.
Snacks were provided by the Hospital Culinary Department and included bite-sized tortilla wraps, meatballs and cookies.
The welcoming ceremony kicked off with a warm welcome from Russell Logan, an administrator at the hospital and Joy Nelson, the event organizer.
“It’s so exciting to see all of you here tonight – the guests and the artists both,” said Nelson with a full-hearted smile. “It’s always like Christmas when the art comes and you get to see all the new things.”
The recorder trio of Heidi Mack, Kari Zeiler and John Meckler kicked the evening off with music, which filled the hallways of the quiet hospital.
Mack, a local piano teacher had her students play songs throughout the event.
The show will run through June 25 and offers pieces of art for display and even some for sale.
The artists featured Charlotte Beaudry, Barry Fowler, Andrew Gonzalez, Rachel Gonzalez, Richard Harter, Rodney Helterline, Gary Hensley, Judy Horton, Brynn D. Kenyon, DeLyle Larson, Sue Honts Mann, Lores Porter, Lydia Shaw, Kyle Sivertsen, Katy Walton, Douglas Wilks and Glenda Wolverton.
