A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 200 and Highway 135 near Paradise around 5 p.m. on Monday. A semi-trailer collided with a late model, light blue Subaru wagon while attempting a left turn heading south on Highway 135.

Eyewitnesses at the scene said it appeared the driver of the truck misjudged the turn and ran over the hood of the Subaru with its back tires. There was no damage to the tractor-trailer.

One female adult and two children occupied the car. They were briefly treated at the scene by paramedics from Plains Community Ambulance and then transported to Clark Fork Valley Hospital. The female adult and girl appeared to be shaken but uninjured. The young boy appeared to have suffered a minor injury to his stomach, apparently a result of the seat belt restraints.

Plains Paradise Rural Fire Department, mutually aided by Sanders County Sheriff’s deputies restricted traffic east and westbound on Highway 200 as well as traffic travelling north on Highway 135 for about 30 minutes. The crash left debris strewn across the road that had to be removed before traffic was allowed to continue.
