Water compact update

Good news:

After hundreds of people testified and many hours of debate, SB 265 (to extend the Reserve Water Rights Compact Commission) passed out of the House Natural Resources committee. HB 629 and HB 636 (Bills to Implement the Tribal Compacts) have been tabled and will likely go no further.

So... It looks like we will be allowed adequate time to review the compact and attempt to resolve major concerns over the interim.

Thank you to all who have dedicated so much time and effort to scrutinize documents, attend meetings, voice concerns, travel, testify and raise awareness about this monumental issue. You have made THE difference!

Many citizens, local elected officials, and legislators worked very hard to get to this point. There is still much work to do.
