The Superior-Alberton tennis team continued to roll through the competition on Thursday when they played host to St. Ignatius.

With solid serving and a relentless will to win, the Mountain Cats won each of their matches – taking the dual 6-0 and remaining undefeated on the season.

In the number one singles match, Alberton’s Emma Wooldridge commanded the momentum against St. Ignatius’ Briar Ahborn. Wooldridge capitalized on her opponent consistently having to attempt a second serve and hit the ball home – only dropping one game in the match and winning 6-1,6-0.

On the doubles side, the dynamic duo of Hillary Stevens and Myranda Kuhl cruised to a straight-set victory over Brianda Jackman and Daisie Vande Boss of St. Ignatius.

As Stevens said last week in an interview, the two rely on communication to get them through their matches and keep the energy level high.

“Myranda and I keep focused by communicating to each other what our strategy is throughout the entire match,” Stevens said. “We are constantly talking in between points and in between sets.”

The constant communication once again paid off for Kuhl and Stevens – the doubles team remained undefeated with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. (For more photos see page 7).
