THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks went in for a double header against Eureka last week and came up with their first win of the season.

During the first game, the ladies came up a little short, just one point behind Eureka.

But that didn’t stop them. In the second game the ladies came back and took the win from Eureka, winning 18 to 12.

According to Head Coach Randy Pirker, the girls were ahead in the first game but Eureka came back with eight runs and took the lead.

Coach Pirker says the offense played better in the second game, one reason in why they secured the win.

“The kids are starting to be more disciplined, they are starting to actually play ball now.

The girls played Plains on Tuesday but scores were unavailable at the time of press.

The ladies will also go on to play Frenchtown on Friday in two games, one against Stevensville and the other against Corvallis.

“Both teams are class A teams. We’ll have to see how it comes,” said Coach Pirker. “Our team changes from game to game on how we do, I think we’ll be competitive and if nothing else, we’ll learn.”
