Lightning ignites fire north of Tarkio

As of publication on Tuesday, the Nemote Fire - located near Tarkio - has burned between 20-25 acres. The fire started Sunday night after a series of lighting storms hit western Montana.

A helicopter supported a ground crew of approximately 60 firefighters on Monday afternoon who worked to dig line around the perimeter of the blaze.
