Saturation of I-90 a success for MHP

Montana Highway Patrol focused a large amount of personnel and resources to the Mineral County area last week in an effort to reduce accidents and look for criminal activity.

According to MHP Sergeant Roman Zylawy, the “week-long saturation” occasionally occurs and last week’s efforts yielded the intended results of the procedure.

“MHP arrested several wanted people on warrants, seized drugs and paraphernalia, and also seized large amounts of cash off of I-90,” Sergeant Zylawy said. “The MHP also now has a drug dog and we brought him in for this special patrol.”

Sergeant Zylawy added the reasoning behind conducting the saturation in “little old Mineral County” is due to its location along the Interstate-90 corridor.

“The corridor is really the only route in from the west to drug destinations like Kalispell Missoula and Billings,” Sergeant Zylawy said. “It is certainly the easier route over Highway 2 or even Highway 200.”
