HOT SPRINGS - The Savage Heat and Lady Savage Heat squads took on county rivals Plains Horsemen and Trotters on Saturday that resulted in interesting play and memorable baskets.

For the Savage Heat, the boys managed to keep an even pace on the game, and were able to evade Horsemen offense, keeping the score up a little higher than their opponents. Seniors Mike Gray, Wyatt Nagy and Dave Cross each bucketed some points in the first quarter, totaling it up to 15 and going strong into the second. The Horsemen trailed just behind the Savage Heat point bracket, with showings by Aaron Baker, Kyle Revier, and Wyatt Winebrenner. Going into the second quarter, the Horsemen boys tried to rally some momentum, but it was not enough to off-set the Savage Heat aggression. The Savage Heat took the game, 61-50. Leading scorers for the Hot Springs boys were Dave Cross with 19, Mike Gray with 15, and Wyatt Nagy with 11. Contributing scorers were Jarod White with eight points, Lane Foster with four points, and Jimmy and Pavlo Zahora with two points each.
