Mineral County Public Library invites public to visit history

| January 2, 2013 10:14 AM

If you haven’t already, now is the time to discover Western author Will James at the Mineral County Public Library.

Recently, the Will James Society donated a set of James’ books, both adult and juvenile, to the library.

James is one of the most colorful among the great authors of the American West.

Born Joseph-Ernest Dufault on June 6, 1892 in Quebec, James came West in

1907.  He was a cattle rustler, prison inmate and cowhand who turned to art for solace during his incarceration.

Released, he wrote and painted prolifically, and from 1920 to 1942, he illustrated more than 20 books and numerous magazine articles.  And he wrote.

His artistic legacy is one of the richest among Western authors.

So come and visit with Will whether you’ve known him before, or whether he’s a new acquaintance.

He’s one cowboy who will keep you entertained.

And the Mineral County Public Library has a multitude of other writers in numerous genres waiting to visit a spell with you as well.

The library is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 AM to 6 PM.
