A very Happy 2013 to us all! Doesn’t it appear that New Year’s comes around more often these years? It seems like a long stretch until Spring. Some of us received a Gurneys seed catalog before Christmas, so we have some inspirational reading.
Congratulations to Joyce and Don Siers on their 60th wedding anniversary-- December 15. This couple is so important to our center, helping out in any way they can. They were married when Joyce was 18 and Don was 31--and “they” said it wouldn’t last!
More happy news, was the visit of Jim Barnes’ granddaughter, Sarah McCullough, back for a Christmas visit from college in Nebraska. It seems like she recently left to begin her studies, but she’s FINISHED already, and will graduate in the spring.Barbara Cripps was proudly showing pictures of her new great-grand baby’s first meeting with Santa Claus.
Pinochle scores show Sharon Gunzler was the high scorer and Joyce Siers came in with the low. Bob Cook played the most pinochles and the door prize went to Peggy Johnson. The group will meet as scheduled on Monday, Jan. 28 at 1:30. Come out to play and stay for dinner at 5 p.m. A tasty meal is only $4.
The menu for part of January is:
Thurs. Jan. 3 Tamale pie
Mon. Jan. 7 Chicken-rice casserole
Thurs. Jan. 10 Roast Beef
Mon. Jan. 14 Salmon Loaf
Thurs. Jan. 17 Chili
All ages are welcome, and take-out meals are available.
