Slide-off occurs on River Road West
<p>A vehicle slide-off accident on River Road West is investigated on Dec. 21 by MHP, Plains PD and Plains Volunteer Fire Department. The driver of the pickup truck was injured, but was transported to CFVH by private vehicle and injuries were reported to not be serious.</p>
PLAINS - A single vehicle slide-off occured on Friday, Dec. 21 that resulted in minor injuries of a minor male traveling on River Road West. The young man had been coming from a residence when a gradual turn became an icy mishap. According to authorities, the driver lost control of the Dodge pickup truck and it collided into a hill and a tire was blown. The driver hit his head, but was able to crawl out of the vehicle and wait for authorities to arrive to the scene. The father of the juvenile driver arrived and gave information to Plains PD and MHP. There was minimal blockage due to the accident, but Plains-Paradise Rural Fire and Plains Volunteer Fire directed traffic to one lane that was slow-moving due to the ice.
