Friends,

What a busy two months it has been since the election! Getting up to speed on the upcoming session and preparing to move to Helena has been a full-time task. I am now moved in and by the time you read this I will have already sworn my Oath to uphold the Constitutions of Montana and the United States.

Our session is planned to last for 90 work days (from January 7 to roughly April 27), with our primary statutory duty being to pass a balanced budget for the 2013-2014 biennium. Of course we will cover a wide swath of other issues, and I would value to hear from you on the important issues.

The best way for a Representative Democracy to work to its best potential is for there to be close contact between Representatives and their constituencies.

To enhance that communication I will be actively updating my public legislative facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/SchwadforHD14.I will include general updates and, most importantly, my 2nd or 3rd reading floor votes. I will list what the bill intended to do, why I voted how I voted and whether the bill passed or failed with a link to the bill and votes. There will also be updates via my twitter, which I suggest you follow: https://twitter.com/Schwad4HD14

For constituent services or to express your opinion on an issue I suggest you contact me most quickly at

nick.schwadererhd14@gmail.com,my email is continuously open throughout the day and I try my best to respond within 48-72 hours for constituents, if not sooner.

Expect to hear more from me throughout the session, hopefully we can use technology and social networking to aid the voters in keeping tabs on their representation!

Nick Schwaderer

Representative, HD 14
