Forest Service seeks comments on Tamarack project at Open House

Superior, MT.— The Forest Service is seeking comment on the 12 Tamarack project, which describes a proposal to improve forest health, watershed conditions, and big game winter range within the Twelvemile Creek, Tamarack Creek, Mullan Gulch, and Boyd Mountain area located north and west of St. Regis.  Proposed activities include prescribed burning, timber harvest, non-commercial vegetation treatments, watershed improvements, recreation enhancements, and road and trail management activities.  

An open house to share information about the project will be held at the Superior Ranger District Office on Tuesday January 29 from 6-8 p.m.  To review information about the 12 Tamarack project, visit the Lolo National Forest website at: www.fs.usda.gov/main/lolo/landmanagement/projects.  Public comments on the project can be submitted through February 15.
