Thompson Falls gains experience on court

THOMPSON FALLS – The Lady Hawks and Bluehawks both suffered a hard week of play, losing both games of the week.

The Lady Hawks played against Florence on Thursday handing over a win.

Logan Beckman basketed 15 points, Kelsey Fitchett had 9, Allison Vaught brought in five points, Erica Sorlie with four, Hope Reid put two points and Angela Padden added a freethrow into the mix.

The Lady Hawks lost to Florence 36-62.

The luck with the Bluehawks was no different, with Florence also taking the win, the final score 28 – 60. Tanner Laws and Ross Dalby each scored six points for the Bluehawks while Trais Hosington and Tyler Bates followed closely behind , each with five.  Ryan Knutson brought in three points, followed by Baptiste Seynaeve with two and Dylan Vaught with one.

As for their second game of the week, the Lady Hawks went on to battle it out with the Libby Loggers, falling short of a victory by two points.

Beckman once again brought in the brunt of the points, netting 23. Reid added seven points to the total while Fitchett put up six. Sorlie scored four points and Vaught brought in another three for the team.

The boys also fell to the Loggers, trailing behind by 17 points and a final score of 29-46. Dalby led with 13, while Seynaeve followed with six. Laws and Whittenburg each had four and Hoisington scored two points.

Both teams will face off Superior this week with the ladies playing at home on Fri., Jan. 25 and the Bluehawks hitting the road on Thurs. Jan. 24 with Superior in their sights.
