NOXON – The Red Devils had another successful week, bringing them to 6-3 in conference play and 11-3 overall.

The Noxon boys started off with a game against St. Regis on Friday, securing a 60-33 win.

Head coach Mike Tessier said the game was a good time to get all of his players out on the court.

“It’s one of those games where you can play everyone and work on some things you need to improve on. That’s what we did. Everyone got to play. We take it one game at a time and improve each time,” said Coach Tessier.

During the game against Charlo, the Red Devils notched another win onto their total, outscoring the Vikings, 63-59.

Neal Jopling had an incredible game shouldering 23 points. Oliver Grupenhoff had 16 points with Austin Tucker bringing in thirteen. Tyler Piazzola had seven points while his brother Brandon and Tanner Tammaro each had two points.

“It was a really good game. We controlled it pretty much all the way,” said Coach Tessier explaining that the Red Devils had a 15-point lead and Charlo cut that down to one. With Noxon throwing in some freethrows down the stretch, the Red Devils put the game away and came out successful.

“It was a big one for us, there was good team effort by everyone,” said Coach Tessier.

The boys will play Arlee on Thursday in a chance for retaliation against their loss to them earlier in the season.

“They beat us last time we played by two. They’re a good team,” said Coach Tessier. “It’ll be a good game. I’m fully expecting it to be a battle right to the end.”
