St. Regis Lady Tiger Head Coach Damian Droessler talked to his squad about capturing the moment when you are called to step up.

Against Noxon on Friday, two Lady Tigers – Arianna Jones and Gabby Moeller – were given a chance to capture the moment.

“They (Noxon) put quite a bit of pressure on Pilar as we expected and Gabby and AJ stepped up,” Coach Droessler said.

“We talked all week about stepping up and capturing the moment when it’s your time and I thought they both did.”

Moeller finished the game with a double double, grabbing 17-points and 12-rebounds, and Jones caught fire from the perimeter to grab 15-points.

Not letting the pressure get to her, Pilar Cantrell-Field contributed 12-points to the winning effort and more importantly fed the ball to teammates for eight rebounds.

On Saturday, the Lady Tigers hit the road to face off against conference leading Arlee and fought a tough battle.

“We showed signs of a great aggressive defense, but it was a little inconsistent,” Coach Droessler said.

“Jasmine Mitchell stepped up and played great defense the entire half and gave us a much needed spark off the bench.”

Coach Droessler said his squad will “need to continue to improve down the stretch with three very important conference games and a non-conference game against Darby left.”
