| January 30, 2013 2:05 PM

Federal grant award of $29,978.00 to support career and college readiness during the 2012/2013 school year

St. Regis School received Priority School status through the Federal GEAR UP Program for the 2012/2013 school year. This allows all 7-12th grade students at St. Regis School to benefit from GEAR UP funding in the amount of $29,978.00.

St. Regis School was one of only 17 schools in the state of Montana awarded the Montana GEAR UP grant program funding starting in the 2011/2012 school year. At this time GEAR UP is providing St. Regis students with a variety of services. These services include but are not limited to: student tours of universities and trade schools around the state of Montana; parents’ nights at St. Regis Schools to learn about financial aid options for their children; help filling out FAFSA forms; participation in afterschool tutoring for students four days-a-week; college & career speakers educating students on future options after graduating high school; funds for new technology toward a 1:1 ratio of device-to-student in grades 7 through 12 at St. Regis Schools.

There are more college and career readiness services to come for our St. Regis students as the 2012/2013 school year continues. We invite St. Regis families and community members to participate in our programs and parent nights as the year progresses. St. Regis School looks forward to working with the community helping our students prepare for a successful future after graduating high school.

Montana GEAR UP believes that postsecondary education is possible for all Montana students, regardless of economic background. Montana GEAR UP supports schools, students, and their families to increase students’ college and career readiness through academic preparedness, postsecondary planning, and financial aid knowledge so that they may succeed in their education beyond high school.
