On Friday night the St. Regis boy’s basketball squad played what Head Coach Byron Quinlan called “three tough quarters” of basketball against a “solid” Noxon team.

However, Coach Quinlan added the Tigers were unable to put together a complete game and fell short in the final quarter of play.

“We must put together four full quarters of basketball,” Coach Quinlan said. “We have to eliminate our turnovers in order to give ourselves a chance to compete.”

In spite of the setbacks his squad faced in the fourth quarter, Coach Quinlan said he is “proud of our effort.”

Coach Quinlan made sure to single out the efforts of his three seniors – Spur Hill, Shad Rich, and Patrick Espanola – saying he is proud of their leadership throughout the season.

“I know they want to leave the program in better shape than they started,” Coach Quinlan said.

The Tigers will hit the road on Thursday and head to Two Eagle before returning home to host a game against Darby this Friday.

“Our team has improved and that is important,” Coach Quinlan said. “The offseason will be crucial for our program moving forward.”
