Superior, MT- Western Montana Mental Health Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Phillip Barrett, MSW, as Director of the Superior office. WMMHC would like to recognize Thomas Hodgetts for serving as office Director for the past eight years, as he will be transitioning to a position in Lake County.

Phillip Barrett currently practices in Superior as an Outpatient Therapist for WMMHC. He received his Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Montana in 2009, and his Masters of Social Work from the University of Montana in 2013. Prior to his career at WMMHC, Phillip worked as a Mental Health Associate for Full Circle in Missoula, MT, where he worked with children and their families. Phillip began working with WMMHC in January 2013, and has already been successful in the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and potential programs.

One of Phillip’s goals is to develop additional programs that support the needs of Mineral County. “Mental Health needs to explore collaborative efforts with the other social services in Mineral County to build stronger programs, establish partnerships and professional networks, and assist in overall development of community resources.” The programs currently operating at WMMHC include Individual and Family Counseling, Adult Case Management, Children’s Case Management, Medication Management, and Addiction Services.

The Recovery Garden has continued to be an asset to WMMHC, promoting healthy lifestyles as well as an opportunity for participants to explore healing and treatment from chemical dependency and mental illness through their contribution to the garden. The WMMHC Recovery Garden is open to all community members who wish to volunteer their time and efforts during the growing season. Produce will be donated to our local Food Bank to further support our community needs and develop collaborative efforts. WMMHC would also like to thank those who have been active in the Recovery Garden, as the fruits of their labor have been beneficial to our community for the past four years.
