Clark Fork River and all fishing access sites reopened

MINERAL COUNTY - Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks reopened today an eight-mile stretch of the Clark Fork River and two Fishing Access Sites (FASs) that were closed last week due to danger from the West Mullan Fire.

The Clark Fork River from Big Eddy FAS to the US Forest Service Slowey Campground, including Dry Creek FAS, is now open for public use.   This reopens all lands and waters that FWP closed in response to fire-fighting activities on the West Mullan Fire. 

FWP reminds anglers that drought-related fishing restrictions, which prohibit fishing from 2p.m. to midnight to limit stress on fish, are still in place on this stretch of river and other reaches of the Clark Fork.  On the Clark Fork River, fishing is prohibited from 2p.m. to midnight from Perkins Lane Bridge near Warm Springs downstream to Flint Creek and then from the Clark Fork-Bitterroot confluence just west of Missoula downstream to the Flathead River.
