A thanks to community

Sara and Tim Buchanan would like to thank the following people for supporting the kids in Mineral Community coming together and work on the signs and banner to thank the firefighters and volunteers that are posted at the Court House lawn. Over 30 kids were in attendance! I’ve had to and will be taking the signs down off and on working around the Court House sprinkler system so the signs won’t get ruined.

Main Thanks to:

Ev from the high school for allowing us to use the High School art room

The secretary for the commissioners for getting the okay to put the signs up on the court house lawn and for helping make the notices for this event

Monte Turner for helping get the word out and his donations for this event

Erin Haworth for helping with the kids and adding her art talents

Christy Doyle for bringing refreshments

Anndenia Gillies for helping chaperone and her art talents

John Updike for his contributions

George Bailey for his contributions

The Drug store for its donations of poster board

All the businesses for allowing us to post the event at their establishments

We want to especially thank all the parents and kids for making this a success!!

We have two children Wesley (age 11) and William (age 8) who were scared about the fire and every day asking if the town was going to burn down. Then one night Sara and I were talking and Sara mentioned how other kids were probably thinking the same as our kids. That’s when she came up with the idea to get the kids of the community together and make a positive situation out of what was going on. We were also frustrated with just watching the fire coming closer to our town and feeling helpless so we thought we needed to show the firefighters and volunteers that this community really cared for their efforts. After all these are Fathers, Mothers, Aunts, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, Sons, and Daughters putting themselves in harms way for our community! Sara also works for the labs at both Mineral Community Hospital and Clark Fork Valley Hospital as a laboratory scientist. We organize the bike rodeo for Mineral Community Hospital every year and I also volunteer for the Cub Scout program as their Cub Master in Superior along with helping the volunteer EMT service in Superior. We love volunteering our time in this area especially with the youth to show our support for this beautiful community and help see to its value as the youth grows and contributes their love for the community.

Thanks,

Timothy Buchanan,

Superior
