MDT seeks public comment on proposed signage improvements

MDT proposes an Interstate wrong-way signing upgrade project that is slated for four counties within the MDT Missoula District.

Missoula District- The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to upgrade Interstate off- ramp signing and pavement markings at all interchanges to reduce the potential for wrong-way entry onto the freeway facility within the MDT Missoula District.

The project is located on Interstate 90 within these counties: Mineral, Missoula, Granite, and Powell counties.

The purpose of the project is to improve the safety of the roadway for the travelling public.

Construction of the improvements is scheduled to begin in 2013, depending on completion of design and availability of funding.

No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
