Power outages to occur in Thompson Falls & Plains

As part of an initiative to improve electric service reliability in the Thompson Falls area, NorthWestern Energy will be doing work that will result in several temporary outages in the Plains and Paradise areas on June 5 and 6, 2013.

Wednesday, June 5:

1) An outage will occur between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and will include all residences and businesses along Highway 200 north and west of Plains from the intersection of Whitetail Lane and Old Hicks Road extending approximately 12 miles towards Thompson Falls.

2) A concurrent electrical outage will occur between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will include all residences and businesses along Highway 200 extending approximately 10.5 miles towards Thompson Falls from the Weeksville Road/Highway 200 intersection. The outage will also include all of Weeksville Road.

Thursday, June 6:

1) An outage will occur from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include all residences and businesses along Highway 135 south and west of Quinn’s Hot Springs near Paradise.

The outages will allow NorthWestern crews to work on overhead lines and replace power poles in the affected areas. The work is being done as part of NorthWestern’s $370 million, seven-year Distribution System Infrastructure Program. The program aims at making proactive improvements to the electric and natural gas systems in Montana.
