Mineral County Commissioners Briefs
The following briefs are from the official minutes of the June 6 meeting of the Mineral County Commissioners.
AIP Airport Hangar
Notice of Award
Mineral County Airport Board Chairman Steve Temple reviewed the project funding and notice of award – asking the commission for permission to get a low interest loan from the Montana Aeronautics Division.
Temple also discussed using Capital Outlay in the budget to make the 10% match.
The commissioners approved the process of the project and getting input from the airport tenants.
Joe Hanson Tax Protest
Mineral County resident Joe Hanson discussed the Sheriff’s Department services in Alberton – stating that he hasn’t seen anything out of the department to justify the money that is paid each year by the town and the county.
Hanson added he would like to talk to Sheriff Ernie Ornelas about the issues he has with the department and will be protesting his taxes due to the lack of law enforcement in Alberton and the surrounding community.
After more discussion was had regarding the matter, Hanson asked to be informed of any response to his concerns by the Sheriff’s Department.
