Mineral County Chamber of Commerce Briefs

The following briefs are from the June 20 meeting of the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce.

Speaker: Racene Freide

Racene Freide was present representing Glacier County and reported on the tourism industry in the state – including the expenditures of the money collected by the state from a seven percent bed tax on all hotel, motel, and bed and breakfast establishments.

Freide also gave several ideas for attracting and capturing tourism in the county.

Golf Tournament

Mike Dodd reported that this year’s tournament was successful and thanked Superior Meats for a “wonderfully” prepared meal.

Fly-In

This year’s Fly-In will take place on August 24 with Peggy Temple chairing the committee.

Chamber Office

The new hours of the chamber office are Monday through Wednesday from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Volunteers are needed to work in the office.
