THOMPSON FALLS – The kids of Thompson Falls High School dressed to impress Saturday night, suiting up and dressing to a tee for a night that lives on in most high schooler’s memories – Prom.
The night was filled with glamour as the kids filled the junior high, dazzling in their outfits and gliding across the floors of the gym, which was decked out into a wonderland under the sea.
The theme for the night was, Under the Sea and advisor Pam Peters expected about 125 freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors to be in attendance.
As the music filled the air, the kids lined up and presented themselves to the crowds of parents during the Grand March. As flashes of bright light lit up the room, the kids who were brave enough to show off their bling, stopped at the wrecked ship in the middle of the gym floor, posing for a picture.
As the march went on, all the kids in attendance walked down the runway, showcasing their allure.
Peters explained much of the decorations were recycled from previous events and the kids raised the rest of the money through concessions, fundraisers and money given from the junior class. Overall, for the decorations and deejay, the kids shoveled out $1,100.
Shasta Wilson, a junior in charge of overseeing the prom decorations said she brought her vision to life while decorating the gym.
“I had a vision in my head beforehand. I thought of the classes before us and what they had done,” said Wilson.
The junior class was able to decorate for prom on Monday, decorating half of the prom location until they got access to the other half and finished decorating on Thursday and Friday.
The all senior prom court consisted of Kelsey Fitchett, Ryan Knudson, Lori Grubius, Dylan Franscesconi, Allison Vaught, John Carter, John Gunderson and Rehanna Burwell.
Fitchett and Knudson were crowned royalty for the night at the end of the grand march.
The prom lasted from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
