TROUT CREEK – The Thompson River Animal Care Shelter will be hosting their 7th annual Pretty Darn Good Variety Show and Fundraiser.
This year the fundraiser is located at the Lakeside Banquet room and has a Las Vegas style theme to the production.
Wanda Thorpe, founder of TRACS, said there will be lively entertainment, raffle items and a live and silent auction.
“It’s Las Vegas Trout Creek style,” said Thorpe. “We’ll be dressed up as if going to Las Vegas – sequins and feathers. Come and wear your bling.”
The fundraiser will have 12 different acts, which Thorpe wanted to remain a surprise, although she did say that some furry companions will be showcased.
The auction will feature handmade cedar furniture, pendants from Brazil and a dinner for every month of the year at Minnie’s Café in Thompson Falls.
The variety of items are plentiful and Thorpe explained that each night will offer different items to be auctioned off.
“There will be something there for everybody,” said Thorpe.
Thorpe explained that most of the auction items were donated to TRACS and all the proceeds help the animal shelter.
Last year the fundraiser netted from $2,700 to $2,800 and Thorpe hopes this year will be even better.
A large sum of the money goes to veterinary clinics in the county. Thorpe explained their biggest expense every year is veterinary care for the animals.
This year the highly anticipated fundraiser will provide the attendees with snacks and a full array of beverages will be available at the bar.
Thorpe’s expectations are high.
“(I hope) we get lots of people there and have lots of fun,” said Thorpe.
The fundraiser will take place on March 22 and 23 at 7 p.m.
