| March 27, 2013 9:56 AM

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has hired Joe Jaquith as Game Warden Captain for west-central Montana’s Region 2.

Jaquith brings with him 25 years of experience as a FWP game warden, most recently as a Warden Sergeant in the Bitterroot Valley for 18 years. He replaces Jeff Darrah who retired in 2012.

Jaquith began his career as a warden trainee in Billings in 1987 and then worked as a warden in Forsyth until 1992, when he moved to the Bitterroot to assume the Darby game warden post. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Eastern Montana College, Billings.

As for transitioning into his new position as Warden Captain, Jaquith says, “I’ve spent over 20 years in the Bitterroot and am excited about the opportunity to meet more sportsmen, landowners and others and familiarize myself with resource issues in more parts of the region as I assume my new duties.”

Jaquith lives in Corvallis with his wife and two daughters. He assumed his duties on March 4 and is based out of the Missoula FWP office where he can be reached at jjaquith@mt.gov or (406) 542-5512.
