Doyle Lynn Prince

| May 8, 2013 11:48 AM

Doyle Lynn Prince, Nampa ID, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 25th, 2013 in Meridian Idaho. In the days, preceding his death he was surrounded by his loving daughters, several grandchildren, his wife, other family members and his church family. As he struggled with illness, he called to Jesus to take him home and was rewarded with eternal life and peace.

Doyle was born in ST Louis County MO, September 4, 1942, and raised on a farm; he attended Barretts Station (two- room) School, grades 1 thru 8; graduated from Parkway High School where he was on the wrestling and baseball teams. Also the Khorey League Ball...he spent many nights in the trunk of his brothers ’39 Ford to sneak into the drive inn movie. In 1960 Doyle enlisted in the US Air Force, and worked as an air-born refueler for four years. Most of his Air Force career he was stationed in Bermuda and flew out from there to various locations worldwide.

While in the St. Louis area Doyle worked for Trans World Airlines, construction work, and restaurant management. He spent a short time working in Colorado as a milkman. Shortly after that Montana, logging, hunting, and fishing got in his blood and he spent 35 years, mostly as a sawyer, in the Superior area. It was there that he and Peggy met and fell deeply in love, and on May 30, 1973, combined their families to become one, adding one more child to the mix as the tie that binds. Through the years he and Peggy took on many adventures from logging together to team driving a semi coast to coast. They often joked that the only thing they didn’t try was picking fruit.

Doyle was always gathering up the kids (including the neighbor kids), taking them hunting, fishing, or just on a ride. His love for life and children is evident in those young men and women who took the time to visit him in the hospital, called to check on him, pray for him, always telling him of their appreciation for what he did and how much love they have for him. His Missouri family remembers him as the best hunter in the group, but countless other people have enjoyed the same memory and have many stories of their escapades in the woods.

Doyle is survived by his wife Peggy, at the family home. Daughters Kim (K.C.), Silver City NV; Rone’ (Ramon), Boise ID; and Becky (Darby), Nampa ID; son Kelly (Nikki), Osage Beach MO; granddaughters Cassie (Kelly) and Samantha. Grandsons Warren, Joe, Taylor, Cameron, Cody, Sheamus and Liam. Great-grandchildren, Avery, Isla, and Brantley Lynn(born 3/31/2013); Brothers Chuck (Rose Marie), Delta, CO; Glenn (Sue) Leesburg, MO; Sisters Carol (Jack), Cuba, MO; Barbara (Al), Fort Bragg, CA. Also, his precious girl Kelly; as well as many friends and family that are too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Carl and John Lee.

As a family we willingly returned Doyle to Christ, knowing that his journey has only just begun. Since moving to Idaho and becoming a part of Family Life Church in Nampa, his walk grew in leaps and bounds. As the spiritual leader of his home he prepared us all for his departing and gave us the courage to go on, knowing that he built his house upon a rock and it will never fail. God Bless you Papa. We love you and will be forever grateful for the love you continue to shower on us.

Memorial services will be held at the Superior Community Church, May 25th 2013 at 2 PM.
