NOXON – Students will be dressed to impress on Sunday, May 12 – clothed to perfection in wedding gowns and tuxedos at the second annual Bridal Fashion Show.

The show will take place in the Noxon School multipurpose room, showcasing over 70 different wedding dresses of all different styles.

Carolyn Carter of Noxon is in charge of putting the show on. Carter opened up a business venture, Carolyn’s Creations in 2007 after two years of collecting dresses in an effort to “pay it forward.”

“I have wedding gowns that I have collected for young ladies who can’t afford a beautiful wedding,” said Carter explaining the dresses could be rented out at no cost to the bride.

This idea began when Carter and her sister were younger and were unable to afford dresses for their prom. Someone stepped forward and provided both of the girls with dresses so they would not miss out on an event that many high schoolers later hold as a sacred memory.

“I took it a step higher,” said Carter. “I’ve seen young ladies who couldn’t afford a wedding and I provided them with a gown and help them to decorate.”

Along with wedding dresses, Carter also provides prom dresses to those in need as well as tuxedos, allowing everyone an opportunity to get dressed up when the time comes.

Donations will be accepted at the entrance to the Bridal Fashion Show and all proceeds will go towards “Think Pink” here in Sanders County, providing mammograms for women who are unable to afford them.

Last year the event raised $55 but this year Carter’s hopes are for much more.

“I’d like to raise $500 at least,” said Carter.

Most of the student models will be from Noxon High School and Carter is also expecting some home school students from the Trout Creek area.

Young men donned in tuxedos will escort the models down the runway and there will also be little ones dressed in ring bearer attire.

Not only will the models be transformed into a wedding tale dream, the multipurpose room will also take on a new look for the event.

Jolynn Mitchell’s art class has been hard at work creating decorations for the event.

The room will be transformed into a garden wedding setting, showcasing handmade flowers made out of coffee filters.

“It will be like you walked out into a garden,” said Carter.
