Despite windy conditions that prompted Coach Rich Magera to remark, “We should’ve flown kites,” the Plains golf team had one of the best performances of the year so far in Deer Lodge.

A second place individual finish and three personal best scores indicate the golf team is showing improvement down the stretch.

Dallas Burgess had one of his best days of the season, shooting a 77 and taking second place.

Cole Benson had a solid showing with a score of 97.

Three Plains golfers had their personal best days on the golf course.

Jade LaDeaux shot 144, Hannah Hardcastle scored a 128 and Alan Ihms shot a 127.

“They keep getting better and better. Driving off the tee and our putting looks good. Approach shots are tougher. We need to work on our mid and short irons,” said Magera.

The Plains golfers will next play at the Seeley Swan Invitational.

Magera said it is a tough course with lots of trees and water hazards.
