Sanders County Golf Update

THOMPSON FALLS – The Bluehawks golf team competed at Divisionals on Tuesday on a course they had yet to play. The Bridger Creek Golf course in Bozeman was home of the competition.

As a team, the Bluehawks pulled out in third place with 352 points, behind Loyola and Deer Lodge.

Tyler Bates scored an 82 while Caleb Bates brought in an 85.

As for the girls, no score was available for their team.

The golfers are currently competing at State, a two-day competition, ending today.

Because of the tournament, Head Coach Gary Thompson was unavailable for comment at the time of press.


PLAINS - The Plains golf team was represented by Dallas Burgess at the state tournament on May 21 and 22.

Burgess placed ninth at the divisional tournament at the Bridger Creek Golf Course in Bozeman.

Burgess shot an 83 to qualify for the state tournament in Big Fork that started Tuesday and continued into Wednesday.

The two-day competition took place at the Eagle Bend Golf Club, considered to be one of Montana’s premier golf courses.

The course featured many water hazards and many trees.

Head coach Rich Magera was unavailable for comment because of the state competition at the time of press.
