Mineral County Commissioners Briefs

| May 29, 2013 12:39 PM

The following briefs are from the official minutes of the regular meeting of the Mineral County Commissioners on May 24.

Mineral County Resource Advisory Group Update

MCRAG will meet on the second and fourth Tuesday at 4:00 pm every month. Dennis Hildebrand will be sending minutes to the commissioner and discussed whether the group should have nine or eleven members.

Attendees at the meeting suggested adding Denley Loge and Angelo Vervaris to the group and the county commissioners agreed to the recommended additions.

Innovation Center Update and Health Department

Office Space

Denyse Traeder gave an update on the Innovation Center in St. Regis, including the Troops to Healthcare Program, quality improvement measure and cost savings numbers, which should be out in June.

Traeder also discussed Better Health Improvement Specialists, which will see ten new hires receive training in Missoula. The group discussed how to identify waste and address ways to provide the best care as well as hiring county residents.

MCH CEO Steve Carty discussed downsizing the current conference room in the Health Department to make more offices and to accommodate the needs of the County Health Department.

Carty presented his idea to the Hospital Board and the Board voted to go ahead with the remodel of the Conference Room.

Carty will still need to confirm that the Hospital Board can meet in the Conference Room at the Ambulance Barn.

The group discussed budgets and where monies may be available as well as other details required before final approval of the project.
