PLAINS - Sanders County has the highest rate of food insecurity in the state, with more than 21 percent of residents struggling with hunger. The Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN) will host a Community Conversation: Hunger in Montana and Sanders County on June 12th in Plains. MFBN invites community organizations and community members interested in learning about hunger in their area to attend.

This meeting will include: a presentation on hunger in Montana, information on hunger in Sanders County, and small group discussion about challenges to accessing food and action ideas to help reduce hunger in Sanders County. This meeting is part of a series of six meetings that will take place across the state this summer.

The presentation will also include results from a survey of Plains Community Food Bank clients. The surveys, conducted by the Montana Food Bank Network, were used to compile our biannual Hungry in Montana 2012 report. To access this report please visit: www.mfbn.org/research.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 12th from 12:00-1:30 pm at the Plains Assembly of God Church Soup Kitchen, 300 Clayton, Plains, MT. Lunch will be provided.
