ALBERTON – The Alberton Lady Panthers faced defeat Friday and Saturday, during their games against Lincoln and Valley Christian, eliminating them from the district tournament.

The game on Friday, against the Valley Christian Lady Eagles, was lost in three sets. Head Coach Hannah Anderson said the game was tough. While the Lady Panthers tried to pull ahead and take the lead, they were unable to recover and avoid a loss.

On Saturday the girls played Lincoln. Anderson said the Lady Panthers came out strong and took an initial lead. Despite the initial start out of the gate, they lost the game in three sets.

“Unfortunately, the team lost momentum and couldn’t pull off the win,” said Anderson.

Anderson was impressed with the girl’s progress over the course of the season. She said the team had great improvement during the season and worked hard. This made the loss in Districts all the harder.

Anderson said she enjoyed working with the girls during volleyball season. She plans to coach girl’s basketball this year and looks forward to working with most of the girls there.

Stats for Alberton’s games were unavailable at time of press.
