Free Medicare 101 Classes Coming Soon

The Area VI Agency on Aging will be offering a free 3-hour Medicare 101 class at the Mineral County Health Department Conference Room, 1208 6th Ave. E., on Tuesday Oct. 15. The class will be held at 1-4 PM and again at 6-9 PM. The class is geared to those turning 65 and joining Medicare soon, but is open to anyone who finds Medicare confusing and would like some help understanding. DAV

The Disabled American Veterans Volunteer Transportation Network ( DAV) provides transportation to ALL rural Veterans FREE of Charge. Are you a veteran? Do you need a ride to Missoula, Helena?

Mineral County has nine volunteer drivers and one Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that no veteran is left without transportation. You do not need to be disabled to ride the van, Caregivers are allowed to travel with the veteran on approved medical appointments, and handicapped transportation is also available to our veterans. You need to make your appointments as soon as you receive your letter. Please call 241-2934 or 822-2213.

American Legion Post #13 St. Regis

Meetings are the first Monday of each month at the community center at 7:00 p.m. in St. Regis.

Trestle Creek Meeting

The board of directors meets at 6 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the golf course.

Mineral County Local Advisory Council (LAC)

The Mineral County Local Advisory Council (LAC) meets at noon on the first Tuesday of each month in the lower level of the Western Montana Mental Health Center, 405 Brooklyn Ave in Superior. The Mineral County LAC has been created to bring awareness to mental health in our community.

Mineral County Chamber of Commerce

Mineral County Chamber of Commerce meets the third Thursday of every month. Next meeting will be October 19, Speakers will be from Blackfoot Telephone, speaking on internet service in Mineral County.

Mineral County Tea Party

The Mineral County Tea Party meets every month on the first Tuesday at 6:30 at the St. Regis Community Center. US Senate candidate Champ Edmunds will be the featured speaker at the Sept. 3 meeting of the Mineral County Tea Party. Call 649-2193 for more info.

Mineral County Republicans

The Mineral County Republican Committee meets every month on the third Wednesday in the Commissioners Room at the Mineral County Court House in Superior. The time is 7:30 p.m. Please call Sylvia Reinicke at 722-3344 for more info.

St. Regis Sewer Board

The St. Regis Sewer Board meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of the month at the community center at 30 Lobo Loop.

Quilting guild

The Cabin Fever Quilters Guild meets the first Tuesday of every month. Call Sherill Christenson at 678-4240 for times and locations as they vary.

Mineral Community Hospital Board of Directors

The Mineral Community Governing Board of Directors next meeting will be held in the conference room of the MRHC on Friday, November 22 at noon.

Superior Food Bank

The food bank is open 10 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays. The Superior Food Bank, is located at the corner of Pine and 4th Avenue, and has changed alley entrance location.

DeBorgia Historic Schoolhouse Foundation

Come join us at the DeBorgia School house as we make plans for the community and more.

We meet the second Wednesday of each month at 3:00 p.m.

The Pathway to Serenity Group meets Mondays at 7:30 and Thursdays at 2 p.m. at the Clark Fork West Church at 75 Abba Lane.

St. Regis Community Council

Meal time at St. Regis

Mineral County Weed District meets at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month in the MSU extension office.

Mineral County Conservation District

Mineral County Conservation District meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at 304 4th Avenue Suite C, Superior.

St. Regis Resort Board

The resort area board meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the St. Regis Community Center. All meetings open to the public.

Cemetery District # 3

All west end citizens of Mineral County are invited to attend meetings held at 2 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month. For more info call Ellen Matz.

Alberton Food Bank

The food bank in Alberton is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.

Mineral County Fair Board

Meetings are every 3rd Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the County Extension Office in Superior.

Mineral County Chamber

Nov. 21 is the next meeting, with Kristi Scott, Outreach & Enrollment Specialist from Mineral Regional Health Center speaking on the guidelines of affordable health care coverage, particularly for small business owners.

Montana Veterans Affairs are coming to Mineral County

Please join the Mineral County DAV at an Open House as we welcome the Montana Veterans Affairs Division. Montana Veterans Affairs will be coming to Superior monthly to assist all Mineral County Veterans with questions from Healthcare, Education, Insurance, Dependent and Survivors Benefits, Vocational Rehabilitation plus much, much more.
