Albert Eugene Goodwin

Albert Eugene Goodwin passed away peacefully at his home in Plains, MT on November 17, 2013.  “Gene” was born to Albert and Delena Goodwin,  August 21, 1936 in Twin Falls, ID.  Gene raised his family of eight children in Darby, MT before moving to Alaska, where he resided several years.  He later returned to MT where he made his residence in Plains.

Gene was known to all as a hard working man, who shared his self taught knowledge of saw filing, with all four sons. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising cattle.  He also loved to sing bluegrass music, and was a self-taught musician of many instruments, including the guitar, mandolin, bass and fiddle.

Survivors include his wife Cecelia, seven children, Jack (Pam) Goodwin, Barbara Goodwin, Dan (Cheryl) Goodwin, John (Sandy) Goodwin, Chris (Denise) Goodwin, Lisa Cress and Jennifer Goodwin. As well as many grand children, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers,  Sam and Delwin Goodwin, the mother of his children; Patricia “Ann” Goodwin, a daughter Delena Dowdy, and a great grandson, Tucker David Smith.  Private placement of his ashes will take place at a later date.
