Michael Eugene Lane

| November 29, 2013 3:44 PM

Michael Eugene Lane’s pain and suffering came to an end when he went Home to his Maker on October 26, 2013. He was born to Ronald and Francis Lane in Vancouver, WA on December 28, 1970.

Mike started working as a logger at the age of 16. He logged for many years on the west coast and then in Montana. He also worked construction, built homes, and drove truck for Schwanns.

In 1989, he married the love of his life, Coco and they were blessed with three sons. They made their first home in Big Fork. In 1995, they settled in Plains.

In 2002, the Lord sent them to Florida to be house parents in a boy’s home at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. In 2004, they moved to Reno, where Mike served as a chaplain at a mission where he devotedly served and helped dozens turn their lives around.

Mike thrived in the outdoors with a love for hunting, camping, hiking, riding and fishing. But his passion and goals were to disciple men and women in the Word of God. Faith comes from hearing (Romans 10:17). There is the sowing faith that brings us to salvation, but he also believed that faith grows stronger by continuing to be in and taught in the Word.

His sons say their dad taught them how to love, because of how he loved them. Mike had an incredible love for children. He was the “favorite uncle” and children always seemed to gravitate to him. He will be remembered for his love to us all.

He is survived by his wife, Coco, sons Timothy, Justin (Jordan), and Ryan, his parents, his brother Ron (Sandi), his sister Kim (Dan) and his grandchildren: Dastyn, Kason, Paige and Owen. He is also survived by six sisters in laws, five brothers in laws, twenty nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. His love and passion for God, his family, and friends will never be forgotten.

Memorial services were held Friday, November 1, 2013 at Plains Bible Chapel with Joel Banham officiating.
