Lady Bobcats play strong against Charlo
SUPERIOR – Saturday evening, the Lady Bobcats saw a close 20-25, 20-25, 21-25 defeat against Charlo’s Lady Vikings.
The Lady Bobcats played strong, leading to a lot of long rallies and held an initial lead in each match. Charlo, however, was just as strong and always came back to bring the score around.
“We played tough until about point 13 each game,” said Head Coach Beth Janney. “But Charlo is a good team and they know how to put the ball away, especially after a long rally.”
Junior Jordan Mueller played a strong game and owned the ball, making a lot of great saves. Mueller made several impressive plays, leaping to make powerful spikes across the net and blocking numerous sets from the Lady Vikings.
According to Janney, Mueller played a phenomenal game
“She served several aces and had some excellent net play to add to her always great setting,” Said Janney.
The rest of the team also played a strong game, blocking the ball and spiking it deep into the other side’s territory.
Even in defeat, the Lady Bobcats were in good spirits after the game, congratulating the Lady Vikings. Janney was confident about the team’s condition and their abilities.
She said the team will be focusing on fundamentals leading up to their game on Thursday against Noxon. While this is their normal training strategy, Janney wants the girls to focus on finishing the game as strong as they start it. Overall, she feels the team is doing well.
“The girls are looking good,” Janney said. “As long as all stay healthy, this is a team that will peak at just the right time.”
